Meet David
David Petty, a Lyman native, is a seasoned textile industry executive, an entrepreneur, and passionate community advocate.
He is the founder of Lenore, a fabric and home décor company that pays homage to the region’s rich textile history. His love for textiles was developed in 2016 when he joined ADO Corporation, a textile wholesaler headquartered in Spartanburg. Starting as Marketing Manager, he soon assumed the roles of Vice President of Sales and Marketing, and later, Chief Marketing Officer. His leadership extended to nearly overseeing the entire company operations. Seeking a new challenge, David left ADO Corporation in 2023 to start a new venture in textiles.
David grew up attending District 5 schools, including Lyman Elementary, Wellford Elementary, Beech Springs Intermediate School, D.R. Hill Middle School, and James F. Byrnes High School. He’s a 2008 graduate of Spartanburg Christian Academy, and a 2012 graduate of Samford University in Birmingham, Alabama. He received his Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science, with a minor in General Business. At Samford, he notably managed the student preaching program, Samford Sunday, for two years.
David’s faith was shaped at First Baptist Lyman, where his family has worshiped for decades. Today, David worships at First Baptist Greenville, where he is a member.
Today, David lives in downtown Lyman in the same home his grandparents, Eugene and Margaret Stribling, moved into in the 1930s. In his free time, he enjoys hiking, home renovation projects, and spending time with his labradoodle, Arielle.
